Have you recently looked over your shoulder to see how far you’ve already come. We often forget that, seeing the distance we’ve already travelled, the reflection of a new person in the mirror, or simply seeing how our environment has changed over time. Do you still hang out with the same people, or did some of them disappear from your life? Do you still complain about the same things you did a few years ago? What’s your view and thoughts about the world we’re living in, our society, the human mentality… did something change in recent years? We learn along the way, even as adults, we’re still growing up, evolving.
I never really understood why there are so many people that seem to stop working on themselves once they’ve settled, once they’re married, bought a house, found a job (that they want to hold on to for the rest of their lives). It’s almost like they’re satisfied at that very moment and want to live like that for the rest of their time on this planet, without any new challenges, without trying to give life a bit more meaning…
I believe in non-stop growth, whether you’re married, single, young or old, I don’t believe in a time where everything’s “done” or “finished”. Do I believe in times of peace, calmness and relaxation, sure I do, but life wants to grow… and so do you. There’s a time for peace and a time for stress and new challenges, both have the same value for our minds, body and soul. Sometimes I really long for a quieter time, because in recent years, each time a problem disappeared from my life, a new one reached out, sometimes out of nowhere. We can handle a lot, but sometimes we need a break, a longer period of happiness and peacefulness, but it will always be followed by a new period of challenges. At least that’s how I see the world.
Ps: Didn’t have a picture for this post, so meet Oscar, my cat! 😉
